Diabetic Nephropathy is a serious complication of Diabetes. Most of the
patients with Diabetes have kidney damage in varying degrees, especially common
among those with more than 5 years of Diabetes history. In recent years,
Diabetic Nephropathy is the main cause of dialysis. Therefore, it is very
important to find the early stage of Diabetic Nephropathy.
In the early stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, the patients do not have obvious
abnormal clinical symptoms, which is the main reason for delaying the early
treatment.
In the early diagnosis of Diabetic Nephropathy, the main diagnosis method is
radioimmunoassay measuring the urinary albumin excretion rate. In normal case,
the urinary albumin excretion rate is below than 20μg/min. In order to get an
accurate diagnosis of early Diabetic Nephropathy, you are recommended to do
regular urine test within six moths. If the urinary albumin excretion rate is
higher than 20 μg/min min and below 200μg/min, and also other factors in
increasing urinary albumin excretion rate are excluded like urinary tract
infection, exercise, and heart failure and so on, you can be diagnosed with
early stage of Diabetic Nephropathy.
In order to prevent early stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, it is very essential
for the patients with Diabetes to take preventive measures as early as
possible.
1. The patients with Diabetes, especially those with more than five years of
disease history, they should regularly take renal function exam, PRO, protein
collection in 24 hours. Moreover, they should enhance measuring their blood
pressure and take fundus examination.
2. If possible, they should take urinary albumin and β2- microglobulin check
regularly so as to find Diabetic Nephropathy as early as possible.
3. They should control their blood glucose and blood pressure firmly so as to
decrease the inducements of Diabetic Nephropathy.
If the patients with Diabetes can take effective preventive measures to avoid
renal damage, they will be able to avoid the occurrence of early stage Diabetic
Nephropathy.
