How to Decrease Blood Urine Nitrogen(BUN)

Blood urine nitrogen (BUN) together with creatinine is important test measuring how well your kidneys work. Therefore, the patients with Kidney Disease feel very panic when BUN rises above the normal reference range. Then why BUN increases and how to decrease it effectively?

Nitrogen comes from the waste product urea that is the breakdown of protein. In normal case, the urea can be passed out of body in the urine by kidneys thus keeping a stable level. The reference level of BUN is 6~20 mg/dl or 2.1~7.1 mmol/l. For kidneys have strong compensatory ability, the BUN level does not increase until at least more than half of kidney function is impaired.

Glomeruli are filters in kidneys responsible for filtering blood in our body. They can retain the useful substances in blood and discharge the metabolic wastes out of body. Once glomeruli are impaired, they fail to function normally thus the BUN rises. Therefore, the key for decreasing BUN is to repairing glomeruli.

We all know that glomeruli are composed of the renal functional cells. Ultimately, we should restore the impaired renal functional cells in the first step. As the renal functional cells fail to work normally, we need to use new cells to replace them to function. Here Immunotherapy is recommended.

Immunotherapys are undifferentiated original cells in body. In right condition, they can regenerate new cells with the same characteristics as the parent Immunotherapy or differentiate into new cells with specialized function. As the Immunotherapy collected from umbilical cord have not developed features, they are not prone to lead to immune rejection after the cells are transplanted into body. Therefore, they are extensively adopted in clinical practices of Kidney Disease treatment. After collection, cultivation of Immunotherapy, they will be infused into body just like blood infusion without operation at all. Then they will be able to differentiate into new renal functional cells and migrate to kidney lesions to replace the necrotic cells to function. Moreover, Immunotherapy also can release some micronutrients that can promote the self-repairing of the damaged cells to recover their function.

If the renal functional cells can be restored effectively, the kidney function will certainly improve. As a result, the kidneys restore their normal filtration function and BUN will decrease afterwards.
