Three simple to know for kidney disease

Kidney disease, although the lack of visibility of heart disease and cancer, is one of the leading causes of death around the world. it is reported that 16.8 of all adults over 20 have chronic kidney disease, more than 31 million American adults have kidney problems and others are at increased risk of getting high. Early detection and prevention could help avoid the disease. Here are three simple tests that can help diagnose.

? The first test is urinalysis.

Routine urinalysis is done to know the condition of your kidneys.

Protein in the urine may be the first sign that the kidneys are damaged before any other index. Protein should have been left under normal circumstances, but would once kidneys are damaged. Initially, a small amount of loss develops proteins called microalbuminuria, proteinuria mass loss appears as the renal function deteriorated with time. Therefore, protein in the urine is measured as an index of vital importance for renal function. Apart from this, albumin-creatinine, a more sensitive for albumin in the urine test will be done.

? The second is the TFG.

GFR measures how effectively renal function. The test alone could not say how well your kidneys work, further adding to other factors such as gender, age, things like that. A normal creatinine level is around 0.6-1.2mg / dL (value varies with age and sex), but a lower value that indicates some kind of kidney problems.

EGFR is another method used to determine the renal function of one.

? Last but not least, blood pressure

Hypertension is the second leading cause resulting in renal disease. A long-term hypertension probably lead to kidney problems, therefore having a good control of high blood pressure is very important for the onset and progression of renal disease.

120/80 would be perfect, if you can not, 130/85 is fine. Lifestyle changes, changes in dietary habits or drugs, whatever you use, reducing high blood pressure is one of the most important things to do.

Apart from these three simple tests, BUN (blood urea nitrogen), images of the kidney or renal biopsy may be done to confirm the diagnosis
