1. Mass proteinuria
The patients with Nephrotic Syndrome can lose more than 3.5 grams protein in their urine. It is the main symptom of Nephrotic Syndrome.
2. Hypoproteinemia
Hypoproteinemia means that serum albumin is lower than 30 grams/L. It is caused by the mass loss of protein in urine.
3. Edema
Edema mainly occurs in the drooping parts of body. What’s worse, some patients have systemic edema, ascites, hydrothorax and even hydropericardium. Usually, the severity of edema varies with the severity of hypoproteinemia, but there are exceptive cases.
4. Hyperlipidaemia
The total serum, cholesterol, various kinds of lipoprotein and so on has obvious increasing.
Furthermore, in the event of nephrotic syndrome, kidneys can not process the body of water at this stage, this may cause too much of the fluid based on the body leading to edema.
To avoid the damage to the patients, they patients need to have diuretic therapy and water intake to reduce the accumulation of fluid in body. As the edema in Nephrotic Syndrome is associated with protein leakage, the patients should take treatment to repair the damaged glomeruli to stop protein leakage. Immunotherapy has a favorable effect in treating Nephrotic Syndrome.
