IgA Nephropathy (Berger's disease) is a kind of auto immune disease. As the
most common cause of glomerulonephritis, it accounts for about 45% of cases.
Originally thought to be benign, it is now known that many patients with IgA

● Urinary changes
a. You may find changes of the urine color. When you present cola- or

c. You may have abnormal output of urine. For healthy people, it is normal to

d. You may need to get up frequently in the night to urinate. In normal

● Swelling (edema)
After getting up in the morning, you may have eye puffiness, and swelling
face. The edema will remit late in the day, but get serious after strenuous work
which can be relieved after rest. In the cases of severe edema, you may have
ankles swelling, and edema in double lower extremities and feet, etc.
● Backache (lumbago)
You may have unexplained backache. It is necessary to check the kidneys,
spine and lumbar back muscles and so forth.
● Sexual problems
For males, you may have sexual problems like spermatorrhoea and
infertility.
