IgA Nephropathy is a kind of Primary Glomerular Disease which is
characterized by relapsing gross hematuria or microscopic hematuria, mesangial
cells hyperplasia, increasing matrix and wide deposition of IgA. In early stage,
there is no obviously symptom and without any discomfort. So patients have
already been in middle-late stage or even in Uremia stage when they noticed some
symptoms. Then, what clinical symptoms do IgA Nephropathy patients have?
Clinical symptoms 1: there are lots of urine bubbles and won’t disappear for
a long time, which presents a lot of proteins are discharged for urine.
Clinical symptom 2: the color of urine changes. When urine present dark
brown, sauce color or turbid just like rice-cleaned water, patients should take
treatment immediately, which is much common in children. Patients with the gross
hematuria often occur after upper respiratory tract infection. And some of them
may occur after acute gastroenteritis or tract infection, which has a 24-72
hours interval. The gross hematuria may last several hours to days and then
turns to persistent microscopic hematuria. Hematuria in part of patients may
disappear while relapse frequently which represent gross hematuria and accompany
constitutional symptoms, such as muscle soreness, odynuria, waist bone pain or
temporary blood pressure and the increasing of urea nitrogen.
Clinical symptom 3: Diuresis or oliguresis. The urine output of healthy
person is average at about 1500ml and 4-8 times every day. If patients have no
fever, excessive sweating or without drinking lots of water, they need to have a
test in hospital in order to check if kidneys have pathological change when the
quality of uremia reduces or increase suddenly. The quality of mild proteinuria
may less than 1g/24h. A few patients may occur a large amount of proteinuria or
even Nephrotic Syndrome.
Clinical symptom 4: nocturia. People under 60 years old should not have
frequent nocturia in common. If the nocturia increases in young people, this may
be the early-stage manifestation of Renal Insufficiency.
Clinical symptom 5: edema. Eyelid or face will have edema when people get up
in the morning and fade away in afternoon. This condition will become worse
after tiredness and better after the break. Severe edema will occur in the
double ankle inside, double lower limbs and lumbosacral portion, etc.
Clinical symptom 6: backache. Patients should have a test on kidneys,
backbone and back muscle if you have low back pain with no reason. Parts of
patients may occur Nephritic Syndrome, Accelerated Nephritic Syndrome and Renal
Failure. A few of them may have waist or abdominal pain accompanied by
hematuria.
