Swelling in the body's tissues is also referred to as edema, a disorder
caused by excess fluid. Although other areas of the body can be affected, edema
usually involves the feet. Swollen feet may happen to people with Stage 4 Renal Failure. What are the causes? Is there any effective treatment?
Causes
Kidney function is often measured by Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR). A
normal GFR is 90 to 120 milliliters per minute. Stage 4 Renal Failure is defined
as a GFR of 15 to 29 milliliter per minute.
Blood contains a high concentration of circulating proteins. In normal cases,
protein in blood is restrained by the glomerular filtration membrane, so it does
not enter the urine. However, most patients with Stage 4 Renal Failure spill
protein in the urine (proteinuria), as the glomerular filtrating membrane is
severely damaged.
With massive loss of protein in the urine, there is a total levels of protein
in the blood. This is common in patients with Stage 4 Renal Failure. Blood
protein deficiency cause fluid to leak from the blood into the tissue, thus
leading to swelling (edema) in the extremities, especially the feet.
Treatment
From the above analysis, we have find the underlying cause of swollen feet in
Stage 4 Renal Failure is due to severely damaged glomerular filtration membrane.
So, in order to eliminate this problem, we must find an effective therapy to
repair the damaged glomerular filtration membrane and restore the kidney
function.
At present, the latest treatment for kidney failure is Immunotherapy in
China. According to personalized illness condition, one or more of the following
therapeutic methods can be adopted:
▪ New immunosuppressive medicines
▪ Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy
This is a kind of Chinese natural herbal treatment. It is applied externally,
so the treatment is quite safe and convenient. Chinese medicines can function to
block further decline of kidney function, improve renal blood circulation, and
provide a good milieu for kidney repair.
▪ Immunotherapy
It is applied to help patients with Stage 4 Renal Failure to repair the
damaged renal cells, recover the function of impaired glomerular filtrating
membrane, and regulate the whole immune system of the body.
