Daily Diet for Lupus Nephritis
Many Lupus Nephritis patients try their best to keep a rigid diet, which is unfavorable for disease resistance of human body because of the weak physical condition. Ischemia stimulate kidney to secret renin, active angiotensin which lead to high blood pressure, at the same time sodium and water retention aggravate high blood pressure. Therefore, patients should limit the sodium salt intake for 3g everyday and replenish Vitamin D to help absorption of calcium. Avoid catching cold, lest it aggravates illness condition.
Lupus Nephritis patients should avoid eating some food after taking medicines, especially for Chinese Medicines. Such as radix asparagi avoid carp, rhizoma atractylodis macrocephalae avoid peaches and plums, turtle avoid three-colored amaranth, honey avoid onion, garlic, schizonepeta avoid fish, trionyx sinensis etc. In the process of treating Lupus Nephritis, some food can reduce or aggravate illness condition, as follows:
1. Avoid eating caraway, celery which could give rise to allergy and aggravate the red spot in face.
2. Avoid eating spicy food which aggravate internal thermal of patient’s body like hot pepper, green onion, garlic etc.
3. Avoid eating Mutton, dog meat, venison, longan which aggravate internal thermal of patient’s body.
4. Avoid smoking, drinking.
5. Seafood is commonly referred to as stimulating food. After eating seafood, some Lupus Nephritis patients will present allergic reaction or aggravate illness condition.
Different patients have different illness condition so Lupus Patients should choose the proper diet according to their condition.
