Diet that Can Aggravate Chronic Renal Failure
In healthy condition, our kidneys perform continuously to remove the excess fluid and metabolic wastes as well as keep electrolyte balance like potassium, phosphorus and so on. However, for the patients with Chronic Renal Failure, their kidneys fail to function normally. Consequently, the electrolyte balance is disordered and the metabolic wastes build up in their body. 1. Phosphorus and protein
If you consume too much phosphorus, it can aggravate Renal Failure. Especially for those on dialysis, it can make the dialysis effectiveness discount greatly. The foods with high phosphorus you will need to reduce include seafood like sea-tangle, nori and yolk, honey, animal offals, cheese, yogurt and mild. Also you should limit the food containing high protein. 2. Sodium and potassium
High blood pressure and edema can put extra burden on kidneys and heart. Also the kidneys can not discharge the potassium as it has been thus the potassium level in blood is elevated ,which can lead to heart beat irregularities and even threaten their life. The common foods that can attribute Chronic Renal Failure include tomatoes, organs, bananas and dried fruits, as well as in some vegetables such as potatoes, pumpkin and so on.
3. Strict restriction of fluid
To avoid fluid building up in body, you need to keep strict restriction of fluid and limit the water intake per day. In addition, you should also reduce the intake of the foods with high fluid like tomatoes, grapes, melons and so on.
Moreover, if you have Diabetes or are overweight, you should also limit the carbohydrate foods.
