Immunotherapy Can Treat Lupus Nephritis?
Patient: Zhangjun
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Diagnosis: Lupus Nephritis, Chronic Renal Insufficiency
The major cause: red spot in face, edema in double eye lids, arthralgia, backache.
History of present illness: after caught a cold, butterfly erythema presented in the face, then patient was diagnosed as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. A few months later, combined with kidney damage, patient was diagnosed as Lupus Nephritis. Prednisone and other medicines are taken with unsatisfactory effect.
Physical examination: Urine Protein: 2+, Occult Blood: 2+, Serum Creatinine: 196.29umol/L, Urea Nitrogen: 10.42mmol/L, light Proteinuria, butterfly erythema in the face, edema in double eyelids, anemia.
Treatment in our hospital: after patient received Immunotherapy for several months, edema and red spot improved obviously, discomfortable symptoms disappeared completely, renal function up to the normal level.

Immunotherapy  have the ability of self-renewal and direction-differentiation. They not only regulate the immune system of patient, but also enhance the immunity. Therefore, after receiving Immunotherapy with satisfactory effect, the illness condition is not easy to relapse.
