Preventions of Lupus Nephritis. You should pay attention to the following points:
1. Importance must be attached to physical factors.
The incidence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in close relatives is up to 5%
to 12%. It is up to 69% in monozygotic twins. Among relatives of patients with
Lupus, the incidence of other autoimmune diseases is also high, such as
rheumatoid arthritis, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, xerosis, psoriasis, etc. It
is higher in black people and Asian descent than that in white people. What
mentioned above all indicate that Lupus is affected by genetic factors. The
disease is common in women. If there is low level of testosterone in patients,
the level of endocrine factors, especially estrogen in patients, is related to
the incidence of Lupus Nephritis. Therefore, patients of Lupus Erythematosus who
have the foundation of autoimmune disease, including relatives with autoimmune
disease, should be on high alert. Once people develop a disease, they should
think of autoimmune disease. Once people have autoimmune disease, active
treatment should be taken, preventing the occurrence of Lupus Nephritis, which
can cause kidney damage.
2. Active treatment for virus infection
In recent experimental study, virus infection may be related with the
occurrence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Therefore, we should take active
treatment for various virus infections. We shouldn’t take the diseases lightly,
especially for minor ailments, such as upper respiratory tract infection.
Because wind is the leading factor in causing various diseases, many serious
diseases begin with catching cold and thus endanger people.
3. Attentions to drug toxicity
Drugs, which are related to Lupus Erythematosus, are hydralazine,
procainamide, isoniazide, methyldopa, lvpumaqin, quinindium, etc. The first two
are common, relating with hydrazine, amine and sulphur group. Patients with
Lupus Erythematosus, who have the foundation of Lupus genetics, should pay
attention to the toxicity caused by these drugs.
4. Avoid sun exposure
The aggravation of Lupus Nephritis is more common which is caused by
ultraviolet irradiation. Ultraviolet rays make DNA into thymine dimer, which can
enhance antigenicity and promote the occurrence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Therefore, in daily life, patients with Lupus Nephritis should avoid long-term
exposure in strong sunlight, reducing kidney damage caused by excessive
ultraviolet irradiation.
