renal function tests and routine urine test are required.
Thirdly, Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) patients who suffer from early or
middle Renal Failure should avoid nephrotoxic medicine which can cause damage to
renal parenchyma and aggravate renal function. Because most medicines are
excreted out of body by kidney and excreting ability decreases in Renal Failure
stage, medicine dosage is increased unconsciously. For this reason, medicine
taking time and dosage should be adjusted according to patients’ renal function
condition.
Fourthly, in Uremia stage: due to large volume of bilateral kidneys of
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) patients, it can be some difficult for patients
to accept Peritoneal Dialysis. So presently, Hemodialysis is mainly used as the
treatment of Uremia patients.
