Complications of Primary Nephritic Syndrome

Primary Nephritic Syndrome is caused by Primary Glomerular Disease. If the patients can not get proper treatment in time, it will cause a series of complications.

1. Infection

The patients with Primary Nephritic Syndrome usually have the following problems:

(1) hypoproteinemia;

(2) body resistance declines

(3) immune globulin and complements lose in urine, which can influence patients’ immunity

(4) using hormone frequently can increase patients’ susceptivity

The above factors are the main inducements of inspection, especially respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection.

2. Thrombus and embolism

For patients with Primary Nephrotic Syndrome, the change in their blood coagulation, platelet system makes blood keep hypercoagulability. Moreover, insufficiency blood volume, hyperlipidaemia and so on make the blood viscosity increase and some medicines also can aggravate hypercoagulability. Therefore, the patients are very likely to have thrombus and embolism.

3. Hyperlipidaemia

Some patients with Primary Nephritic Syndrome have hyperlipidaemia over time, which can cause atherosclerosis thus causing cerebrovascular diseases.

4. Hypoproteinemia

For patients with Primary Nephritic Syndrome, their bodies can not get enough protein over time, which can cause them to have emaciation, amyotrophy, malnutrition so the children will stop growing up. As the patients lose mass of protein in their urine, vitamin D3 and microelements can not get their conjugate so the patients’ bodies can not get sufficient vitamin D3 and microelements such as iron, zinc, copper and so on. As a result, the patients often have hypocalcemia, and microelement insufficiency.

5. Kidney damage

For water leaking into subcutaneous tissue and coelom, it can cause circulating blood volume to become insufficient. Therefore, kidneys can not get enough blood supplements thus causing prerenal axotemia. In some cases, the patients may have Acute Renal Failure.
