Autosomal dominant PKD is one of the most common inherited disorders. If one parent has the disease, there is a 50% chance that the disease will pass to a child. At least one parent must have the disorder for a child to inherit it. Many persons with this disease live for decades without presenting symptoms. For this reason, it is often called "Adult PKD". Cause of bleeding in Adult PKD
Bleeding or hemorrhage is a much common problems in patients with ADPKD. The volume of bleeding is different from case to case. Over 60% of patients experience once hemorrhage during the whole life.
In this case, there may be no symptoms or merely pain of abdomen when there is a bleeding. Risk factors for this condition include hypertension (high blood pressure) and enlarged kidneys. A severe hemorrhage may also occur due to infections and stress.
Cause of rupture of cysts in Adult PKD
▪ Enlarged cysts. Without effective treatment, the cysts will grow continuously over time. Patients have risk of cysts rupture with large enough cysts.
▪ Smoking cigarette and drinking alcohol. Both of the factors act ac trigger for cysts enlargement, which may cause the burst of cysts.
▪ Cold or infections. They may affects the curative effects of the disease. In severe cases, cysts rupture can be caused.
▪ Constipation. This is a dangerous condition for persons with large renal cysts.
